Packers | Sam Shields negotiating

Drew Rosenhaus, the agent for restricted CB Sam Shields, will meet with the team Monday, June 3, to try and work out a new deal for his client. Shields and Rosenhaus hope to have a long-term deal wrapped up so that Shields can participate in the team’s minicamp this week. If Shields were to play for his second-round tender this year, he’d make $2.02 million.

Our View: The Packers have exclusive negotiating rights with Shields since no other teams signed him to an offer sheet before April 19. If Shields doesn’t sign his tender by June 17, the team could reduce their offer to 110 percent of his 2012 pay, which would be $540,000.
