The Carolina Panthers have released QB Jimmy Clausen, CB Drayton Florence, TE Zach Pianalto, WR James Shaw, WR Brenton Bersin, OG Hayworth Hicks, DT Sione Fua and LB Douglas Hogue.

Footballguys View: Clausen hasn’t seen the field since his disastrous rookie season (2010). He didn’t prove to be much more than a third-string caliber QB. He may not find may suitors now that he’s on the open market.
