Carolina Panthers LB Thomas Davis said he wants to return for one more year season with the team next season. He added, ‘I understand that there’s a whole business side of things that has to take place. My whole mindset and everything I want to do is totally surrounded in coming back and playing here. Hopefully, they share that same sentiment.’

Footballguys View: When you think of the Panthers defense, it’s difficult not to think of Davis. A first-round pick out of Georgia in 2005 for the Panthers, Davis has been a cornerstone of their defense. He’s not the same player he used to be, but Davis still wants to play and could be one of those players the Panthers don’t want to play for anyone else. Davis is among 19 players on the team set to become unrestricted free agents this offseason.
