Updating a previous report, the New England Patriots have signed DL Armond Armstead to a three-year deal worth $1.485 million. He is scheduled to make $405,000 in 2013, $495,000 in 2014 and $585,000 in 2015.

Our View: Armstead could have been a first or second-round pick without a heart attack caused by Toradol, an injected pain killer. Multiple teams were interested in the CFL standout, who was an all-star in the league as a rookie last year.
