New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is looking forward to a more productive season from WR Danny Amendola in his second year with the team. “Danny’s not dissimilar to the rookies,” McDaniels said. “He wasn’t here before, and he had an opportunity to get a foundation and a system last year. And now it’s his second year, and it will be exciting to see Danny’s growth. Any time you’re in your second year in a system, you’re more comfortable. We’re excited to see what he does.” However, after the team expected him to be a big part of the offense in 2013, they aren’t trusting him to be a featured piece in 2014.
Footballguys View: They can’t trust him (fantasy owners can’t either) because he can’t stay healthy. Amendola only played in 12 games last year and finished third on the team with 54 catches. His current ADP (WR44) reflects those durability concerns. Amendola is going off the board at 10.01 in 12-team PPR leagues.
