The Oakland Raiders have acknowledged they need a quarterback, and they have met with Clemson QB Tajh Boyd, who is projected to go anywhere from the second to fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Boyd said Tuesday, Jan. 21, that the Raiders have been the most interested of the dozen or so teams he’s talked with so far during the Senior Bowl.
Footballguys View: That sounds about right. Boyd is a raw prospect, but he has decent athleticism. Many in the scouting community compare him to a poor man’s version of Donovan McNabb. Boyd can keep plays alive with his feet, but he lacks the consistent accuracy needed from an effective starter at this time.
