Washington Redskins LB Brian Orakpo said he did not consider sitting out offseason workouts even though he is looking for a long-term contract. The two sides have had discussions about a new deal, but Orakpo said people will need to ask general manager Bruce Allen about any progress that is being made.
Footballguys View: Washington placed the franchise tag on Orakpo, and he’s already signed the deal. His franchise tender will guarantee him a one-year salary of $11.45 million. We’ll see if the two sides can work something out before the mid-July deadline to negotiate a long-term deal with franchise players.
