Washington Redskins RB Matt Jones needs to improve his ball security of he wants to continue to be part of the offense, according to head coach Jay Gruden. ‘Definitely you’re concerned,’ Gruden said. ‘The two biggest traits in a back are durability and ball security, and he’s proved to be pretty durable so far, but the ball security thing is an issue. We’ve got to get it corrected.’ Jones has lost two fumbles in his last two games.
Footballguys View: Jones had fumbling issues in college at Florida, and those have followed him to the pros. We’ll see if the rookie can tighten up his grip and earn a larger role on offense.
