The New Orleans Saints will release LB Will Smith, which will create $11.5 million in salary cap space. The move likely will be announced Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Footballguys View: Zero surprise when this happens. Smith does not fit Rob Ryan’s defense, and coming of an ACL injury he’s not worth that cap number. Some team could be interested in Smith if they run a 4-3 defense and want a veteran presence on the line.
