Seattle Seahawks SS Kam Chancellor (neck) is unlikely to formally retire this offseason due to a clause in his contract that guarantees him $12 million in the event that he is injured. Likewise, the Seahawks are unlikely to release Chancellor because his cap charge would go from $9.2 million to $19.5 million. So it appears very possible that Chancellor will be on the Seahawks roster in 2018 whether he can play again or not.
