Many feel rookie RB Christine Michael (Texas A&M) is a star in the making. In fact, ESPN.com’s Matt Williams wrote this in a recent piece on the rookie. “Expect Pete Carroll and company to harness Michael’s great talent by bringing him along slowly. By 2016, he will be a total stud and a true every-down running back. Ignoring their extenuating circumstances, (Marcus) Lattimore and Michael are the most talented all-around running backs from this latest draft class.”
Our View: Sigmund Bloom nicknamed Michael ‘Starbucks’ because of his highly caffeinated running style. Michael’s legs churn like jackhammers when he’s running between the tackles and he’s difficult to bring down. Cecil Lammey was impressed with Michael earlier this year during the week of practice for the Shrine Game. However, he did note Michael’s full speed had not quite returned at that time. Michael has severe durability concerns after his junior (knee) and sophomore (leg) seasons were cut short by injury. Michael will compete with second-year RB Robert Turbin to be the primary backup behind Marshawn Lynch in 2013.
