Steelers | Alejandro Villanueva may walk away?

Pittsburgh Steelers exclusive rights free-agent OT Alejandro Villanueva could consider walking away from football if he does not receive a long-term contract from the Steelers, in the opinion of ESPN.com’s Jeremy Fowler.

Footballguys View: Villeanueva has an interesting situation. He’s an ERFA, so Villanueva can sign a tender worth around $615,000. That’s significantly less than starting left tackles make, but the Steelers own his rights for two years as Villanueva is set to be a restricted free agent in 2018. We’ll see if the two sides can come together on an extension that properly compensates the veteran left tackle.
