If Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free-agent WR Mike Wallace were to sign his tender and play out the 2012 season there is no way the team would place the franchise tag on him next offseason. If Wallace does sign the one-year tender, he’d become an unrestricted free agent a year from now and the team would likely let him walk.
