Pittsburgh Steelers OT Mike X. Adams is listed as the starting left tackle on the team’s first depth chart and is considered the favorite to win the job. Adams has been working position over the past week at training camp.
Footballguys View: No surprise here. This is why Adams was the Steelers second-round pick in 2012. Coming out of Ohio State scouts compared Adams to Levi Brown (Cardinals) because of his size and athleticism. Adams gets out of his stance quickly and establishes a wide base which helps him deal with power rushers effectively. He is nasty as a run blocker and has the ability to move his man. Adams needs to clean up the way he handles edge rushers.
