The Houston Texans will not be trading for New England Patriots QB Ryan Mallett.

Footballguys View: The Texans are going into the season with Ryan Fitzpatrick as their top quarterback. They failed to address the position with a premium pick, but they did select Tom Savage (PITT) in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft. Savage has a strong arm, and he can fit passes into tight windows. However, he is not that athletic and struggles to make quick decisions under pressure. Look for a run-heavy system under new head coach Bill O’Brien in 2014.
