The Tennessee Titans plan on releasing RB Chris Johnson Friday, April 4, according to sources. He averaged a career-worst 3.9 yards per carry in 2013 and didn’t have a run longer than 30 yards. Johnson is scheduled to make $8 million in 2014.
Footballguys View: That $8 million cap number kept any team from trading for the veteran runner. At this time, we could see teams like the Cowboys and Giants show interest in Johnson once he’s on the open market.
