The Tennessee Titans are not eliminating the fullback from their offense, according to head coach Ken Whisenhunt. ‘We will have a spot for a traditional fullback, maybe 15 to 20 snaps a game,” Whisenhunt said. ‘If we get into a situation where we have the lead and we go into a four-minute offense, it will be an integral part of it. Now there may be some games where we don’t have a lot of (fullback) snaps, so it will depend.’
Footballguys View: Some teams seem to use the fullback position to stash backup running backs but it sounds like Tennessee won’t be one of them. The offensive line is a work in progress and they need quarterback Jake Locker (or if the worst happens, Zach Mettenberger) upright, and an extra blocker would be nothing but helpful.
