Representatives from four NFL teams — plus one team from the Canadian Football League (Edmonton Eskimos) — were on hand for South Alabama’s pro day on March 7. The workout was held outdoors on FieldTurf, and 14 University of South Alabama players — plus four others from area small schools — went through drills. Ross Metheny, QB (6-foot-1 3/4, 210 pounds) — Metheny ran the 40-yard dash in 4.72 and 4.65 seconds. He had a 40-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-10 broad jump.
