I know I have to bring my ‘A’ game every day because they’re bringing theirs,’ Thompson said. He has also seen time in the return game, fielding kickoffs.

Head coach Rex Ryan has repeatedly likened Wilkerson’s work ethic and ascension to CB Darrelle Revis. ‘Looking back on the spring, if I had to rank our guys – out of Revis – (Wilkerson) was the best player on the field,’ defensive coordinator Mike Pettine said. ‘He was dominant at times. He doesn’t take a day off. He doesn’t take a play off.’
