Bills | Mario Williams expected to see time on both sides

Buffalo Bills DE Mario Williams likely will be the starting left defensive end this season but is expected to see some time at right defensive end as well during the season.

Our View: Moving Williams around will only make the Bills pass rush more effective. The team also added Mark Anderson in free agency and he’ll help rush the passer as well.

Browns | Trent Richardson waiting for top two to sign

Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson said he is waiting for Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck and Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III to sign before signing with the Browns. ‘For me, I think I’m really just waiting on one and two to get done,’ Richardson said. ‘Then when the big guys get done, I can sign.’

Our View: The days of the rookie holdout are long gone. Once the top two sign, the deal for Richardson will fall into place.

Browns | Brandon Weeden hopes for deal before camp

Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden said he hopes to sign his contract before the start of training camp. He said the two sides are working on an agreement.

Our View: No worries here. Weeden is very likely to be the Browns week one starter, and they can’t afford for the rookie to miss any time in training camp.

Chiefs | Dexter McCluster watching tape of Wes Welker

Kansas City Chiefs RB Dexter McCluster said he has been watching tape of New England Patriots WR Wes Welker this offseason because he could see time as a slot receiver this season. McCluster said he would like to play like Welker does because Welker gets open and plays hard every play.

Our View: We like McCluster as a buy low candidate in dynasty leagues. He’s yet to play up to his potential with the Chiefs and may have to go to a second team if he’s going to emerge as a weapon.

Giants | Adrian Tracy moved to DE

The New York Giants have decided to move LB Adrian Tracy to defensive end this season after Tracy spent his last two seasons at linebacker. ‘We felt that he’s more of a defensive end,’ defensive coordinator Perry Fewell said. ‘After looking at him for the past year or so, we feel that’s his strength and we can make some progress with him playing defensive end for us.’

Titans | Marc Mariani could be in better position to make team

Tennessee Titans WR Marc Mariani is expected to compete for a roster spot during training camp but his improvement at wide receiver during offseason workouts in addition to his return abilities could help his chance to make the final roster. Head coach Mike Munchak said he was impressed with how Mariani performed with the offense during practices. Mariani said he is feeling healthier and stronger this offseason and believes the additional time he has spent with wide receivers coach Dave Ragone has helped his receiving skills.

Our View: Mariani is a fantastic return specialist because of his speed and moves in the open field. While he could make the final roster and see some time at WR we don’t see him as much of a fantasy factor in traditional leagues that don’t reward points for return yards.
