Patriots | Tony Fiammetta likely to make team
The New England Patriots are likely to keep one fullback, and FB Tony Fiammetta (illness) appears to be the favorite to crack the 53-man roster. He was a help last season to the young back with the Dallas Cowboys before suffering an illness. FB Eric Kettani is considered a long shot to unseat Fiammetta on the depth chart.

Patriots | Joseph Addai on roster bubble already?
New England Patriots RB Joseph Addai was reportedly not very impressive during the team’s offseason program, and he might not be on the roster bubble. It sounds like Addai needs a strong training camp and preseason if he wants to leapfrog RBs Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen and Danny Woodhead, among others.

Patriots | Screen game helps Danny Woodhead’s cause
New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels favors the screen game, which works in the favor of RB Danny Woodhead. The diminutive back saw a decrease in touches last season, but his ability to catch out of the backfield will help his cause.

NFL | Curtis Martin doesn’t blame league
Former NFL RB Curtis Martin, who is about to be enshrined in the National Football League Hall of Fame, said Monday, July 23, that he suffered ‘a lot’ of concussions during the course of his career, and he became ‘an expert at covering it up.’ Martin is not among those suing the league over concussions, and he doesn’t feel bitter about the risks he took. ‘This was just the mentality, it’s no fault of the NFL or anything, it’s just a part of the game,’ Martin said. ‘When I would get hit, they knew that I popped up just like that, every time I get hit. Any time that I didn’t pop up, my fullback knew to come pick me up because I was probably either dazed or knocked out.’
