Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick said he was more concerned with dogfighting than learning his playbook while with the Atlanta Falcons. ‘Back when I was involved in those activities, I may have become more dedicated to the deep study of dogs than I was to my Falcons playbook,’ Vick said. ‘I became better at reading dogs than reading defenses. That’s just so sad to say right now, because I put more time and effort into trying to master that pursuit than my own profession … which was my livelihood … which put food on the table for my family.’

One of Baltimore Ravens FS Ed Reed’s family members believes Reed will play football in 2012 and not hold out of training camp. ‘Everyone is talking about a holdout,’ the family member said. ‘Ed isn’t going to hold out. He told me he isn’t going to hold out. He speaks his mind about some things, gets some things off his chest, but he’s never said he is going to hold out. He’ll show up when he has to be there and he’ll play out his contract.’
