Redskins | Brian Orakpo expected to be full-go

Washington Redskins LB Brian Orakpo (shoulder) said Tuesday, July 17, that he expects to be ‘full-go’ once training camp begins in late July. Orakpo had surgery in January after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 17 last season. ‘I’m one hundred percent ready to go,’ Orakpo said. ‘In OTA’s and minicamp, we kind of got held out because there was no point in re-injuring anything. But once training camp starts, I should be full-go.’

Ravens | Joe Flacco focused on season, not contract

After the Baltimore Ravens signed RB Ray Rice to a long-term deal, the next priority for the organization is locking up QB Joe Flacco to a long-term contract. Flacco is concentrating on focusing on the season, and he isn’t worried about the business side. ‘Joe is very, very excited for the season,’ his agent said. ‘He’s really adamant about getting the Ravens to the next step. The contract at this point is secondary to that goal. Joe has the attitude that he’ll earn it.’

49ers | Would be expensive to franchise Dashon Goldson again

The San Francisco 49ers could keep SS Dashon Goldson beyond this season, but if they used the franchise tag on him again in 2013, it would cost $7.45 million, or 120 percent of his 2012 salary. If the team does not use the franchise tag on him, he can become an unrestricted free agent.
