Bears | Agree to deal with Matt Forte

The Chicago Bears and franchise free-agent RB Matt Forte have agreed to a four-year deal. The deal will average about $8 million per year.

Our View: Forte’s patience pays off here. He’s wanted a new long-term deal for the last two years and finally came to an agreement with the Bears. If he can stay healthy we believe Forte should easily finish as a top 10 fantasy RB in 2012. Now that any holdout possibility is out the window we expect his ADP (RB11 – 2.02) to rise.

Broncos | Training camp will have high tempo

Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy issued a warning to players, telling them that training camp practices will have a high tempo under QB Peyton Manning. ‘We’ve said it during minicamps, during our (organized team workouts), and the same will be true in training camp: We’re going to go at the quarterback’s speed,’ McCoy said. ‘And everyone knows our quarterback has played a long time and understands a great deal of things. Everybody is going to have to keep up with him. That’s how it has to be.’

Chiefs | Can Brady Quinn become a starter?

NCAA head coach Charlie Weis, who coached Kansas City Chiefs QB Brady Quinn at Notre Dame, said he still believes Quinn can become a starting quarterback in the NFL. ‘Brady could have been a starting quarterback for me in the NFL,’ Weis said. ‘Go back and look at those numbers for the two years he played for me. He was great. He wasn’t good. And I know if I had him as a quarterback, I would have felt very comfortable that I could have won no matter where we were.’
