Broncos | Robert Ayers entering crucial year

Denver Broncos DL Robert Ayers is reportedly entering a crucial year. The former first-round pick is a starter, but he hasn’t been much of a factor in his three NFL seasons. Ayers has managed a total of just 39 tackles in each of the past two seasons and he has 4 1/2 career sacks. Ayers has a lot to prove in 2012.

Bears | Jay Cutler making better decisions

Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler was knocked by scouts early in his career for making poor decisions, but he has cleaned up the mistakes over the years. ‘(Cutler is) managing the game better,’ a league evaluator said. ‘He’s not making as many dumb mistakes. He’s not forcing the ball as much. In Denver, he was spraying the ball all over the place.’

Packers | Randall Cobb will still be returner

Green Bay Packers special teams coordinator Shawn Slocum said WR Randall Cobb will still be a kick and punt returner even if he gets a bigger role in the offense. Cobb did have three fumbles as a returner last season but Slocum does not believe it will be a problem this season because he has had experience as a returner.
