Jets | Bart Scott plans to be more aggressive
New York Jets LB Bart Scott has dropped weight, and he plans to play faster this season. He said that his only personal goals this season are to get better, play at a high level and make plays and help the team have a great year. He thinks the defense will be much better this season as a whole. ‘It’s all aobut playing faster and playing and going and not just reacting all the time. Go in there, and we put the pressure on people. Like we did our first year. We came out, we blitzed, we didn’t care. You pick it up or you didn’t pick it up,’ Scott said.

Jets | John Conner expects to be more involved
New York Jets FB John Conner said Tuesday, July 3, that he expects the fullback to be a lot more involved in new offensive coordinator Tony Sparano’s scheme. ‘(Sparano) really likes the ground-and-pound game, which is good for me, so we’ll see. I knew a little bit about him, he was the coach of my team in the Senior Bowl, so I got a little taste of what his style was like,’ Conner said.

Jets | Jeff Cumberland wants to be solid all-around
New York Jets TE Jeff Cumberland (Achilles’) is eager to get back on the field after suffering a season-ending injury in Week 3 last season. He also wants to develop into the full package. ‘I want to look like a full tight end, not a receiving tight end or a blocking tight end. You look at me like, ‘OK, he’s a full tight end, he’s doing the blocking, but he’s also doing the receiving at the same time,” Cumberland said.

Browns | OC plans to use Trent Richardson plenty
Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns RB Trent Richardson is hopeful of coming in, serving as the team’s workhorse, and ending his career as one of the franchise’s best players. New offensive coordinator Brad Childress plans to use the 5-foot-10, 224-pound Richardson in similar ways to how he used RB Adrian Peterson and WR Percy Harvin when he was head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. That includes plenty of carries and receptions out of the backfield.
Our View: Richardson reminds us of Adrian Peterson and could perform like a top 10 fantasy RB this year. His angry running style wears down defenders and Richardson gets stronger as the game goes on.
