Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said the team wants to be able to run the football this year when they want to run it. He is looking for the running game to be a physical one. ‘There aren’t any numbers; you know, we aren’t running 35 times, this and that, every game dictates different numbers. But when we want to run it, we want to be able to run it, and be able to be physical. Old school football, double team, kick out and hit it up in there,’ Arians said. He noted he feels the team’s players have adapted to his philosophy quickly and he is excited to see them with pads on behind the offensive line, which he really likes.

Indianapolis Colts LB Pat Angerer said he is feeling pretty good about the team’s new defense. He noted they have installed quite a bit of it so far and the coaching staff has done a good job at easing them into it. ‘The good thing about a 3-4 is it can be a 5-2, it can be a 4-3 depending on who you drop. It’s basically the same stuff. The good thing about a 3-4 is you can do more. I’m excited about it. It’s a great defense. We’ve got some good schemes. It’s going to be fun,’ he said.

Indianapolis Colts rookie TE Coby Fleener said it’s much easier learning the team’s playbook by running through the plays. He said it is also nice having QB Andrew Luck with him, as that helps in his transition and makes learning the playbook a lot easier.
