The mother of Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant, Angela Bryant, stressed during a brief press conference Tuesday, July 24, that while there may have been a domestic incident last week, no family violence occurred. Neither Bryant nor his mother took questions regarding the Class A misdemeanor charge filed. Instead, a statement was released and read aloud by their attorney, Texas state senator Royce Wst. ‘Did a family disagreement occur? Yes,’ West said in the statement. ‘Did Dez Bryant commit family violence against his mother? No.’

Lions | Riley Reiff contract update

Updating a previous item, Detroit Lions OT Riley Reiff’s deal includes a $4.25-million signing bonus but no guaranteed money in the fourth year. Though none of his 2015 base salary is guaranteed, Reiff did receive a $325,000 bonus in the fourth year. His contract is valued at just under $8 million, with $6.5 million guaranteed.

And we’re off! Training Camp 2012 has begun… kinda. I’m in Charlotte getting ready to head over to the stadium to watch QB Cam Newton throw with a group of young receivers. They have a three-day mini-camp before camp actually begins at Wofford College, and that’s in Charlotte today. That’s where I’ll be. You’ll be able to watch portions of this practice on NFL Network, and I’ll be on bright and early to talk about it.
