Dallas Cowboys TE Jason Witten (spleen) will be examined again early next week and surgery on his spleen has yet to be ruled out. However, his progress so far is encouraging, and doctors are checking his blood work daily to make sure his spleen is healing. Witten did some rehab work Monday, Aug. 27.

Dallas Cowboys WR Dez Bryant’s advisor, David Wells, said Bryant is ‘100 percent’ behind the rules and restrictions the team placed on him in an effort to protect him from off-field trouble. ‘Dez came to light, himself, based on a couple of instances that happened with other NFL players,’ Wells said. ‘He realized that he wanted to make some changes himself. He wanted to put some people around him that could also be there in case something happened, they’d be able to attest to what’s going on with him.’
