49ers | Anthony Dixon likely to make roster
San Francisco 49ers RB Anthony Dixon stands a good chance of making the final roster, according to offensive coordinator Greg Roman. ‘I think we can look to (Dixon) to have his most productive season as a Niner,’ Roman said. Dixon seemed hopelessly buried on the depth chart at running back when training camp began, but he has taken advantage of recent injuries at the position and has strung together two solid preseason games.

Raiders | Could look at Chris Cooley
Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said the team could potentially look at free-agent TE Chris Cooley (Redskins). ‘We’re going to look at anybody that comes available, and I don’t care what the position is,’ Allen said. ‘If we feel like a guy can make us better, then we’re going to look at it. I wouldn’t single out the tight end position.’

Raiders | Denarius Moore shares Carson Palmer’s concerns
Oakland Raiders WR Denarius Moore (hamstring) said he understands QB Carson Palmer’s concerns about his inability to work with the young receiver. Moore has not practiced since Aug. 4 because of a lingering hamstring injury. ‘I’m very concerned,’ Moore said. ‘As far as getting timing down with the quarterback, that’s very important. And actually being out there and repping each play, getting each concept down. It’s just mental errors, too, that you have to be aware of.’

Steelers | Mike Wallace feels he will be ready
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Mike Wallace feels confident he will be ready to go for the team’s Week 1 game. Wallace admitted, however, there’s a difference between good shape and football shape. ‘I’m not worried about it at all because I have good teammates, and they’ll get me ready for going against the defense,’ Wallace said. ‘As far as conditioning-wise, we have two weeks to the game. I’ve been working out, I’ve been doing really good conditioning, so that’s not really going to be a problem. Nothing is like getting in football shape, it’s a little different, so the first couple days I might be a little more tired than the other guys – not because I’m not in shape, just because it’s different with pads on. But I’ll be ready.’
