Our View: Ryan Mathews was benched early for a fumble last week in a bizarre move. Battle was ineffective except on his short yardage carries, which raises the specter of Battle continuing to play a role around the goal line a la Mike Tolbert. Battle is worth a pickup, but his talent is marginal.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe caught seven passes for 108 yards and one touchdown in Week 4 against the San Diego Chargers.

Our View: Bowe caught his touchdown as the game was getting out of hand, but he is still playing like a true number one receiver in this offense held back by a poor quarterback. He was questionable coming into this one, but Bowe has proven that he is a strong WR2 going forward.

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries in Week 4 against the San Diego Chargers but lost two fumbles during the game. Charles also caught three passes for 23 yards and one touchdown.

Our View: Charles struggled badly early with the fumbles, but his explosiveness was still evident as the Chiefs were trying to dig out of the early hole they created. Charles is a no brainer every week start top 5 fantasy running back going into a tough matchup against the Ravens.

New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez went 13-for-29 for 103 yards and one interception against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4.

Our View: After next Monday night against the Texans, the calls for Sanchez to be replaced could get a lot louder.

San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore rushed for 62 yards and one touchdown on 21 carries against the New York Jets in Week 4. RB Kendall Hunter rushed for 56 yards and one touchdown on eight carries in the game.

Our View: The Jets held Gore in check, but the ineptitude of their offense gave the 49ers short fields and lots of time of possession, so he eventually broke through. Hunter remains a flex play at best as long as he’s healthy.
