Rams | Steven Jackson unlikely to be dealt

St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson is unlikely to be traded before the deadline Thursday, Nov. 1, but Jackson’s time with the team is surely waning. It’s unlikely any team will give up high draft picks in exchange for a running back approaching 30 years of age with a contract about to expire. The writing is on the wall, however, that Jackson isn’t a part of the team’s long-term plans.

Eagles | DeSean Jackson thinks Michael Vick is an elite QB

Philadelphia Eagles WR DeSean Jackson thinks quarterback Michael Vick is still an elite QB, and as far as he knows, still the starting QB of the Eagles. ‘As far as I know right now, Michael Vick is going to be the quarterback,’ Jackson said in an interview on ESPN Radio’s ‘Mike and Mike in the Morning.’ ‘I haven’t heard of changes or anything like that, so we’re still going with the plan.’

Packers | Alex Green to remain the starter

Green Bay Packers RB Alex Green will remain the team’s starting running back over RB James Starks due to his breakaway speed. The team would rather continue on with Green as the lead back rather than trade for Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams or St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson, too. General manager Ted Thompson prefers to save salary cap space so he can work on contracts for LB Clay Matthews, DT B.J. Raji and QB Aaron Rodgers.
