Titans | Kendall Wright leads team in catches

Tennessee Titans rookie WR Kendall Wright led the team with 64 receptions, and he tied Jacksonville Jaguars WR Justin Blackmon with the most catches by a rookie in the NFL this season. Wright averaged 9.8 yards per catch, and said the transition from college to the NJFL was made easier by watching WR Nate Washington. ‘I just watched what Nate did and tried to do the same things,’ Wright said.

Titans | Tommie Campbell gets chance

Tennessee Titans CB Tommie Campbell started the second half of the Week 17 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in place of CB Alterraun Verner, as the team gave Campbell extra playing time this week and last week. ‘Campbell was playing already in the nickel package anyway this week,’ head coach Mike Munchak said. ‘I thought we’d give him a chance to play some more. He did a nice job. He’s got a lot to learn, but he’s a big guy, matches up well. He’s a physical corner.’

Titans | Akeem Ayers sees time at MLB

Tennessee Titans LB Akeem Ayers used use in the middle during nickel-package situations in Week 17 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had very little experience at MLB, but finished with eight tackles, one sack and two quarterback hits with a forced fumble. ‘I never practiced it last year or much this year,’ Ayers said. ‘We had some guys down, and Coach said this week, ‘We need you to play middle linebacker.’ I really had to study the playbook.’
