San Jose State TE Ryan Otten has really helped his draft stock this week at the Senior Bowl. Otten came down with an illness this week but played through it, and scouts were impressed by his toughness. Otten also showed that he can play h-back, fullback and tight end.

The New York Giants have signed TE Jamie Childers, CB Buddy Jackson and PK Jake Rogers to futures contracts. Terms of the contracts were not disclosed.

San Jose State OT David Quessenberry is impressing scouts, and he could have elevated himself to the third- or fourth-round range with solid play this week in the Senior Bowl. He was impressive in one-on-one drills Wednesday, Jan. 23.

Our View: Quessenberry has the ability to play guard or center, and that versatility has elevated his draft stock. Many teams also love his flexibility.

The Cincinnati Bengals have signed free-agent DE Aaron Maybin (Jets). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Our View: The Bengals aren’t afraid to take on reclamation projects. Maybin has never lived up to his draft slot (11th overall, 2009) but did lead the Jets with six sacks in 2011.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are very interested in drafting Mississippi State CB Johnthan Banks in this year’s draft, and the team’s front office thinks he could go in the first round. Banks is the consensus second-rated cornerback in this year’s draft class behind Alabama CB Dee Milliner. Milliner is expected to go before the Bucs select at 13th overall.

Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco will receive a mega long-term deal this offseason or he’ll get the franchise tag, but he isn’t in danger of leaving Baltimore.

Our View: The Ravens let Flacco play out his contract this season and it’s going to pay off big time for the strong armed QB. Flacco’s agent said the QB was worth top 5 money and many scoffed at the proclamation. With this Super Bowl run (and perhaps a Super Bowl victory) the numbers might not be too far off.
