Ravens | Bernard Pollard wants Tom Brady fined

Baltimore Ravens SS Bernard Pollard wants Patriots QB Tom Brady fined for a foot-up slide in the AFC Championship Game. ‘If you want to keep this going in the right direction, everyone should be penalized for their actions,’ Pollard said. “[He] knew what he was doing. It has to go both ways. Hopefully the NFL will do something about it. If they don’t, that’s fine. If they do, then that’s fine.”

Lions | Not changing their defensive scheme

Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said the team is not going to change their defensive scheme to a 3-4 defense. Schwartz also said he did not see the “wide-9” defensive end alignment as a problem last year. ‘We didn’t have enough sacks this year,’ Schwartz said. ‘To be able to blame that on the Wide 9, the people that say that really don’t know what they’re talking about. Every team in league, when it’s third down, lines up exactly the way we do it. It puts guys in the best position to rush the passer.’

Colts | Expected to use more of a west coast offense

Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton said he expects to use more of a west coast offense next season. “It’ll be a variation of the West Coast (with) West Coast principles,” Hamilton said. “The short, efficient passing game, a high completion rate.” Hamilton ran the west coast offense at Stanford with QB Andrew Luck.

NFL | J.C. Tretter has versatility

Former NFL general manager Phil Savage, who runs the Senior Bowl, thinks NFL draft prospect OG J.C. Tretter has the versatility to make him valuable to an NFL team. ‘JC Tretter is a great story,” Savage said. “A high school quarterback turned tight end and then played left tackle for two years. He’ll play guard (this week) and snap the ball some. He’s got excellent feet. He’s a very good athlete. If he can hold up strength-wise.”

Bengals | Looking for another QB

The Cincinnati Bengals appear to be searching for a backup quarterback to QB Andy Dalton with QB Bruce Gradkowski headed for free agency this offseason. However, they don’t want to push Dalton out of the starting role, so they are unlikely to use early draft picks on a QB. Bengals quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese will take a look at North Carolina State QB Mike Glennon, Florida State QB EJ Manuel, Arkansas QB Tyler Wilson, Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib and University of Miami QB Zac Dysert this week. Glennon has been receiving the most praise from evaluators, and they believe he might be in the best position to succeed immediately in the NFL.
