NFL | 11 teams attend Cornellius Carradine’s workout
The Kansas City Chiefs, Detroit Lions, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, Cincinnati Bengals, Minnesota Vikings, Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers had representatives at Florida State DE Cornellius Carradine’s workout Saturday, April 20.
Our View: Carradine was looking like a top 5 pick last year at Florida State before a late November knee injury cost him the rest of the season. He’s got functional strength, uses his hands well, and can stack and shed with ease. Carradine can create edge pressure with multiple moves to get after the passer.

Giants | Intrigued with Dion Sims
The New York Giants met with Michigan State TE Dion Sims at the NFL Scouting Combine and are intrigued with his height.
Our View: The Giants need help at the TE position since losing Martellus Bennett (Bears) in free agency. Sims has a good size/athleticism combination. He has soft hands and good concentration to look passes in regularly. Sims is athletic enough to line up wide or from the slot as a WR. He’ll be tough for defenders to matchup with at the next level.

Dolphins | Would have to sign Branden Albert to extension
The Miami Dolphins would have to sign Kansas City Chiefs OT Branden Albert to a contract extension if they acquired him in a trade because they could not fit his $9.8 million salary for 2013 in their salary cap.
Our View: Albert is reportedly wanting a salary close to what former Dolphins LT Jake Long got from the Rams. The Dolphins currently have a little over $8.2MM in salary cap space.

Dolphins | Talking with Branden Albert about contract
The Miami Dolphins are in talks with the representatives of Kansas City Chiefs OT Branden Albert about a long-term contract.
Our View: If they add Albert he would immediately step in and start on the left side. That would keep second-year OT Jonathan Martin on the right side of the O-Line. The Dolphins likely would send the Chiefs a second-round draft choice if a trade is completed.

Lions | Open to taking OG in first round
Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said the team is not ruling out the possibility of taking an offensive guard in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft because University of Alabama OG Chance Warmack and North Carolina OG Jonathan Cooper are considered top prospects. I think, if ever there was a time for a guard to go early, it would be this year with the caliber of the two guys that are coming out and with the way the rookie contracts are structured right now,’ Mayhew said.

NFL | Eddie Lacy was not 100 percent at workout
University of Alabama RB Eddie Lacy (hamstring) said he was not 100 percent recovered from a hamstring injury when he participated in his workout, which is why he did not look his best. ‘By the time it was anywhere close to 100%, I only had two weeks to train,’ Lacy said. ‘Everybody knows that two weeks is not enough time, pretty much to do anything. I went out there, I did the best I could do and I got through everything, but there was really nothing I could do about it.’ Lacy reportedly ran the 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds and 4.60 seconds during the workout.
