Chiefs | Dwayne Bowe likes new offense

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe said he likes the offense that head coach Andy Reid has brought to the team. ‘Throwing the ball deep, that’s something we haven’t done in the past so I’m excited right now. The play calling is totally different from last year. It’s not check downs or putting it in the running back’s hands. This guy likes to go down the field, take the top off (the defense) and that’s something we haven’t done in the past, put up a lot of points. This season he said we’re going to blow out the scoreboard and that’s something I’m looking forward to,’ Bowe said.

Giants | Unsure if Victor Cruz will be with team Week 1

New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese said the team is not sure if restricted free-agent WR Victor Cruz will sign with the team before the start of the regular season. ‘I don’t assume anything,’ Reese said. ‘We’ll see. I can tell you this – when we get ready to play – when the season starts, we will have some good players out there. I’m not sure if Victor will be there or not.’

Bills | Kevin Kolb thinks up-tempo offense will help players

Buffalo Bills QB Kevin Kolb said the team’s up-tempo offense will help the younger players because they will not have to think as much. ‘The best thing to me that tempo does,’ Kolb said, ‘is that it relaxes the mind of the players and they can just do what they’ve been doing their entire life. A big problem, especially for young players at this level, is they slow down because they’re thinking too much. If you get them into a no-huddle, you get them into a quick style of offense, then they’re just reading and reacting. When you’re reading and reacting you’re playing at your highest level and that’s when you make a lot of great plays.’
