Jets | Tavon Austin expected to be option

The New York Jets are expected to take a long look at West Virginia WR Tavon Austin if he is available when they pick in the first-round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Our View: Austin could be the first WR off the board in the 2013 NFL Draft. He’s simply electric with the football in his hands and reminds many in the scouting community of Randall Cobb (Packers).

Browns | Jordan Cameron says offense will help TEs

Cleveland Browns TE Jordan Cameron said the team’s new offense will help the tight ends because it will create mismatches. Cameron said tight ends will be covered by linebackers and safeties in the new offense.

Our View: Norv Turner knows how to make a TE friendly offense. Cameron has upside and we like him in dynasty leagues. The former USC basketball star needs to get up to speed quickly in this system and start playing up to his potential.

Browns | Brandon Weeden working with starters

Cleveland Browns OT Joe Thomas said QB Brandon Weeden has been working with the first-team offense during offseason workouts. QB Jason Campbell has been working with the second-team offense.

Our View: There will be competition for the starting QB job this year in Cleveland. Weeden will be the first up and we expect him to hold onto that spot. It’s a make or break year for him in this first season with the new regime.

Rams | Work out Ace Sanders

The St. Louis Rams conducted a private workout with South Carolina WR Ace Sanders Wednesday, April 17. The team also met with Sanders last week. Sanders could be an option if the team is not able to select West Virginia WR Tavon Austin.

Our View: Sanders is a super charged WR who can help primarily as a return man. He’s considered a late round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Lions | Will work out Denard Robinson

Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said the team is scheduled to work out University of Michigan WR Denard Robinson in the near future.

Our View: Robinson is a player who reminds some of Dexter McCluster (Chiefs). He’s a converted QB who has worked hard to show off his skills as a WR. At the Senior Bowl he had a poor showing and had difficulty catching the ball. However, at the Scouting Combine he looked much better. Robinson is a mid- to late-round pick who could be dangerous in the Lions offense.
