Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik expressed confidence that CB Darrelle Revis will not be a holdout during the course of his new deal. ‘That won’t happen,’ Dominik said. ‘It won’t. Every year he’s going to walk out of his contract and say, ‘I’m the highest paid defensive back in the NFL, I’m one of the highest paid defensive players in the NFL,’ and there’s a lot of peace with Darelle right now, as there should be. But at the same point, he bet on himself and believes in himself and that’s why we were willing to extend up to that number of $16 million, but every year he walks into a new year with $16 million in front of him.’

Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik said CB Darrelle Revis (knee) will be ready to start in Week 1. ‘One hundred percent he’ll be out there,’ Dominik said. ‘Everything’s on the right track in fact. I’m confident he will walk out the first day of training camp with pads on and go do work, so we’ll be smart with him.’

The Baltimore Ravens could release RB Rolando McClain prior to the start of the 2013 season. Even though the team was hopeful McClain could play a big role for them, he was guaranteed no money in his contract. His deal only could be worth a maximum of $1.1 million. McClain might have not lasted through training camp, even without his most recent legal trouble.

In addition to the surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder, he has had surgery to place a rod in his tibia near his ankle, a knee scope and hernia surgery. ‘Teams have known about these surgeries all along,’ a source said. ‘They haven’t been a secret and this is not a big issue.’
