Raiders | Updating on D.J. Hayden

Updating a previous report, Oakland Raiders CB D.J. Hayden (abdominal), the team’s first-round draft pick, underwent surgery that is believed to be the directly related to the heart issue he suffered last November, according to ESPN’s Stephania Bell. ‘It is absolutely related to the heart surgery. There wouldn’t be any scar tissue if there wasn’t a surgery,’ Bell said. ‘But they can be very comfortable that it doesn’t have anything to do with the heart itself or the vein that was operated on … It’s not totally unsurprising.’ Hayden will miss all the team’s workouts leading up to training camp, but they are confident that this was a minor setback for him. Hayden is expected to start in his first season.
