Broncos | Sign Kayvon Webster

The Denver Broncos signed CB Kayvon Webster (South Florida) Thursday, June 13. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Our View: Webster was their third-round pick in the 2013 NFL draft. He’s got the length and recovery speed to hang with receivers down the field. Webster isn’t afraid of run support and is a clean tackler in the open field. He’ll work as a subpackage player this season but could move into the starting lineup as soon as 2014.

Broncos | Montee Ball signs

The Denver Broncos signed RB Montee Ball (Wisconsin) nThursday, June 13. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Our View: Ball is set to take over as the Broncos lead back in 2013. When that exactly happens is anybody’s guess right now. Ball has been working behind Ronnie Hillman in Broncos minicamp and is getting about 1/4 of the first-team reps. We’ll see if Ball can pass Hillman on the depth chart during training camp.

Eagles | Matt Barkley agrees to terms

The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to terms with QB Matt Barkley (USC) on a four-year contract Thursday, June 13. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Our View: Barkley was an interesting pick by the Eagles on the third day of the draft. He’s smart, accurate on underneath routes, and known as a strong leader. However, his arm isn’t that strong and he’s not the athletic QB Chip Kelly will use to run his spread/zone option offense.

Texans | David Quessenberry impressing coaches

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said he has been impressed with OT David Quessenberry’s work at right tackle during offseason workouts. ‘I’m impressed with how far he’s come,’ Kubiak said. ‘He’s obviously been put in a very tough spot, but sometimes that’s how you find a heck of a player.’ Quessenberry has seen time with the first-team offense because of injuries to OTs Derek Newton (knee) and Brennan Williams (knee).

Redskins | Adam Carriker to start camp on PUP list

Washington Redskins DE Adam Carriker (quadriceps) said he will begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list because he needed a second surgery on his quadriceps injury. He hopes to be ready for the start of the regular season but that is uncertain at this point. Carriker has been running and is looking for more range of motion in his knee.
