Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau was noncommittal about his future, stating at the team’s three-day minicamp,’I don’t think, because of the situation I’m in, it would be very productive to think about it. I go one day at a time really and one year at a time and feel blessed that I’m still in the game and surrounded with young people that are working hard. I don’t worry too much about the future. Some of us don’t have as much future as some of the others.’

NFL | Terrell Owens waiting out the process
Free-agent WR Terrell Owens was asked on NFL Network show ‘NFL AM’ whether he’s heard from an NFL team since his release from the Seattle Seahawks in training camp last year. ‘Nothing as of right now,’ he said. ‘So I understand the process. Obviously teams are really taking a closer look in evaluating their younger players. Being a free agent, I understand that later in the months as training camp starts, they’ll start looking for veterans.’

Buccaneers | Josh Freeman happy about continuity on O
Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman, entering his fifth season, has played for two head coaches and in three systems, with three offensive coordinators and four quarterbacks coaches. The passer is optimistic about how his offense will perform in Year 2 under offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan. ‘I think our comfort level is so much higher, and I speak for the entire offense,’ Freeman said. ‘It’s just the communication. It’s all functioning at a higher level. That comes with experience. Everybody is going to be on the same page, and we’re not going to hinder ourselves.’

Panthers | Domenik Hixon sitting out minicamp
Carolina Panthers WR Domenik Hixon (hamstring) will miss all of the team’s three-day minicamp this week because he injured his hamstring last week in organized team activities, according to head coach Ron Rivera. ‘He is coming on, did some really nice things for us, but unfortunately we’re going to miss out on the next couple days without him.’

Panthers | Jonathan Stewart still in recovery mode
Carolina Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart (ankles) continues to recover from offseason surgeries on both of his ankles and is sitting out the team’s three-day minicamp this week as a result. Head coach Ron Rivera said that Stewart is recovering well but didn’t say whether he’d be ready for training camp. ‘The hard part is any time you have both of them done — whether it’s two ankles, two knees, two hips, two shoulders, whatever — it’s going to be a while.’

Falcons | Sean Weatherspoon, Stephen Nicholas close to return
Atlanta Falcons LBs Sean Weatherspoon (knee) and Stephen Nicholas (hernia) are both expected to be ready for the team’s mandatory minicamp that takes place next week. ‘I’m fairly confident that when we start our mandatory minicamp that both of those guys will be out there,’ Smith said. ‘They have done probably more workload over on the side with the trainers than what they would put in during a particular practice. We think they’re real close. We want to make sure that they get another couple of days with the trainers before we bring them out.’
