The mother of free-agent TE Aaron Hernandez (Patriots) believes her son is innocent and will be cleared of all charges, including the first-degree murder of Odin Lloyd, in time. ‘All I can say is that he will be cleared of all these charges in the end,’ she said. ‘Just let it play out until the end.’

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles praises teams offense

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles said he excited the team is going to use the pistol offense in 2013, an offense he is familiar with after running it in the 2008 season. ‘I ran it my rookie year and I love it,’ Charles said on NFL Network’s ‘NFL AM’ on Thursday. ‘I ain’t never been around no offense that’s about to be explosive and about to put me in space and making me make plays. I see Frank Gore had success with (the pistol) with the (San Francisco) 49ers. If he can have success, I hope I can have success as well.’

Browns | Two OTs high on Barkevious Mingo

Jacksonville Jaguars OT Luke Joeckel and San Diego Chargers OT D.J. Fluker both said they were impressed with Cleveland Browns LB Barkevious Mingo when they faced him during college. ‘I’ve gone against Mingo three times in my career,’ Fluker said. ‘Mingo’s a great player. He has a good work ethic and he’s a guy with a high motor. He works hard, he’s strong and he’s fast off the edge.’

Our View: Mingo is an incredible athlete with the length, first step explosion, and closing burst to get to the QB in a hurry. He’s still raw and needs to develop counter moves to his edge speed in order to play up to his potential as a pro.
