Cowboys | Were high on Terrance Williams

The Dallas Cowboys had WR Terrance Williams the 23rd player on their board entering the 2013 NFL Draft, and selected him with the 74th overall pick. He will be competing with WR Dwayne Harris for the No. 3 wide receiver job during training camp.

Our View: Williams has a good combination of size and straight-line speed, that could be harnessed to replace Miles Austin if he is deemed not worth his 2014 salary of 5.5 million dollars. He will have his hands full trying to overcome Harris this year, but Williams will hopefully be on target to start next year if he is needed.

Dolphins | Continue to talk with Vonta Leach

The Miami Dolphins continued contract talks with free-agent FB Vonta Leach (Ravens) Wednesday, June 26.

Our View: The Dolphins lack a lead-blocking fullback, with FB/TE ‘tweeners Charles Clay and Evan Rodriguez on the roster at the position right now. The addition of Leach would be great news for a Lamar Miller hype train that is picking up enough steam to get him into the third round of some drafts.

Bills | Aaron Williams willing to play at CB

Buffalo Bills FS Aaron Williams said he would be willing to line up at cornerback this season if the team needs him to at some point. ‘Being there the last two years, I’m comfortable there. So whatever time coach needs a corner there I’m the first one to jump up. Just because I moved to safety doesn’t mean I can’t play corner,’ Williams said.

Bills | Expect improvement from Stephon Gilmore

Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley said the team expects CB Stephon Gilmore to improve his play from his rookie season to his second season. ‘First of all I think if you look at Gilmore and you’ve been around the practices this spring he’s made a leap from year one to year two. Anytime you see a rookie going into his second year make that transition and not have a sophomore slump and make improvement that’s always a positive,’ Whaley said.

Chiefs | Brandon Lloyd could be option

The Kansas City Chiefs could show interest in free-agent WR Brandon Lloyd (Patriots) if WRs Donnie Avery and Jonathan Baldwin are not good enough complements to WR Dwayne Bowe.

Our View: Lloyd can still work the sidelines and create some separation on short and intermediate routes, but his personality could be too much for some teams, and he showed little ability to get downfield or create after the catch last year. If Lloyd is signed, it’s more of a bad reflection on Baldwin and Avery than anything good about Lloyd.
