Ravens | Ray Rice wants to be smart
Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice said he has to be smart about not trying to do too much as he gets older. ‘Going into Year 6, you have to be smart,’ Rice said. ‘I know I have a lot of football left, but the name of the game is longevity for me now. I’ve proved I can be a Pro Bowl player and I still know I can go out there and make many more Pro Bowls. Part of the lesson you learn is being smart and realizing you can’t go out there and do it all on your own. For me, I’m in a great situation, I’ve a got a young back in Bernard Pierce and we can share the load. But I know when it’s a crucial situation, like a fourth down or a big third down, I go out there and make as many plays as a I can.’

For me, being a leader in the secondary, it’s my opportunity to step up and be that guy,’ Munnerlyn said.’ It’s going to be scary how good (this team) can be. And I’m excited about this year. I feel like we can be the top defense in (the NFL).’

Vikings | Desmond Bishop wanted to play against Packers
Minnesota Vikings LB Desmond Bishop said part of the reason he chose to sign with the team was to play against his old team, and QB Aaron Rodgers in particular. ‘It was part of the reason,’ Bishop said. ‘And if I can get a chance to play against Aaron Rodgers, I think that right there, in itself, is a motivation. You know, you want to play against the best. … When I was playing for Green Bay, the games I cherished … most was playing against the Vikings because I had a chance to play against (running back) Adrian Peterson…That’s my mindset. I want to play against the best.’

Titans | Nate Washington compares Jake Locker to big-name QB
Tennessee Titans WR Nate Washington sees similarities between QB Jake Locker and a young Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger. ‘I was there in Ben’s second year, and right away you kind of understood that even in his second year, he was gonna be a good quarterback, a guy that could make plays. That’s the same thing with Jake,’ Washington said. ‘He’s a guy who can make plays. I tell everybody all the time, this is football, and it’s a gladiator sport, but it’s not a dumb man’s sport.’
