Bengals | Onterio McCalebb to work with former CB

Cincinnati Bengals CB Onterio McCalebb said he is going to work with former NFL CB Ken Riley this offseason to work on his technique at cornerback.

Our View: McCalebb was a RB in college at Auburn, but the Bengals have moved him to the defensive side of the ball. The Bengals will also try to use him as a gunner and return man on special teams.

Redskins | DC expects a rookie to start at safety

Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett said he believes a rookie will start at safety this season but does not know if it will be FS Phillip Thomas or FS Bacarri Rambo. ‘I think one of them. Yeah, I really do think one of them will be on the grass. I’m not sure which one, but one of them I think is going to have to… I think they’ll all help us. I think all three of them are going to help us. I just don’t know to what extent yet,’ Haslett said.

Colts | Expect Vontae Davis to play well

Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson said the team expects CB Vontae Davis to play great this season. ‘We expect greatness from Vontae,’ Grigson said. ‘Everyone knows what he is capable of. It’s time for him to turn the corner in his career the way his brother (Vernon) did out in San Francisco. We saw glimpses and impressive flashes last year, but we expect him to put it all together this fall.’

Chargers | Manti Te’o says he has not been teased

San Diego Chargers LB Manti Te’o said he has not been teased by his teammates this offseason for his personal off-field issues. ‘No, lucky for me I’m surrounded by guys in San Diego who really care about football and really care about winning and they really care about people,’ Te’o said. ‘And for me as a rookie, I just keep my head down and keep working and keep my head in the playbook so I don’t give them a reason to yell at me or give them a reason to not like me.’

Vikings | Coach compares Cordarrelle Patterson to Randy Moss

Former University of Tennessee assistant coach Charlie Baggett said he believes Minnesota Vikings WR Cordarrelle Patterson’s speed and athleticism compares favorably to free-agent WR Randy Moss (49ers). ‘I don’t want people misinterpreting me as saying Cordarrelle is better or will be better than Randy Moss,’ Baggett said. ‘When it comes to everything else that’s needed to be an elite NFL receiver, he has a long way to go to reach Randy. But he definitely has that ability. He really does.’
