Miami Dolphins WR Marvin McNutt has a connection to the team’s WR coach Ken O’Keefe from their days together at the University of Iowa. O’Keefe was McNutt’s offensive coordinator for the Hawkeyes and he knows how to use the second-year WR to his fullest potential. In three years McNutt became the school’s all-time leading receiver with 170 catches for 2,861 yards and 28 touchdowns.
Our View: McNutt was a sixth-round pick by the Eagles in 2012 but the team decided to let him go earlier this offseason. He’s a huge target who knows how to frame his shoulders to the QB and come back to the ball. However, McNutt is not a quick twitch player and struggles to gain separation against NFL coverage. He’s competing for one of the final spots on the depth chart.
