Titans | Markelle Martin itching to go
Tennessee Titans FS Markelle Martin (groin) missed all of offseason workouts due to a groin injury, and he spent last season on the Physically-Unable-to-Perform (PUP) list for a period due to a knee issue. He is itching to go, showing his coaches and teammates what he can do. ‘It is definitely frustrating,’ Martin said. ‘You feel like you are halfway in and kind of halfway out as far as being on the field. But I keep myself into it mentally as far as going over plays and talking to the guys.’ Martin is expected to be ready for training camp, according to head coach Mike Munchak.

Titans | Kevin Walter expected to be ready
Tennessee Titans WR Kevin Walter (back) missed all of minicamp with back soreness, but head coach Mike Munchak isn’t too concerned about the veteran’s readiness for training camp. ‘Just because we do so many things similar (to what Walter did with the Houston Texas), he understands so many things we’re trying to accomplish as a team, a play-action team, a run the ball team. He’ll be OK,’ Munchak said. ‘We already know what he can do, so he is probably one guy who can miss time. But he has already made an influence on our receivers by the way he handles things. He’s a nice fit.’

Titans | Kenny Britt using different approach
Tennessee Titans WR Kenny Britt used a different approach to organized team activities (OTAs) this season. In the past, he viewed OTAs and training camp as opportunities to get in shape, rather than maintaining his fitness away from the team’s facilities. This season, he is taking a different approach. ‘It was in my mind as a young player that I could get in shape (when I got here), instead of being in shape at the start of training camp. I thought I could take this (time) off, and get back into shape in camp,’ Britt said. ‘That is not something I want to do any more. I want to be in shape at the start of camp and be ready to go. I don’t want to fall behind everybody.’

Eagles | Matt Barkley learning quickly
Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur said Thursday, June 20, that QB Matt Barkley is progressing nicely, picking up the team’s verbiage as he learns the playbook. ‘A lot of the way we communicate is different than what he did in college, but he’s been able to do very nicely here in the first few weeks,’ Shurmur said.
