Seahawks | John Schneider received extension

Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider recently received a contract extension that is scheduled to run through the 2016 season. Terms of the extension were not disclosed.

Our View: This is a no brainer for an organization that continues to ascend. Schneider has been making outstanding picks in the draft, even though the team has gone counter to expectations in many instances. He has also improved the team via trade, picking up Marshawn Lynch and Percy Harvin, and even recouped value in trades of an ill-fated free agent signing like Matt Flynn.

Titans | Teammates support Jake Locker

Tennessee Titans OT Michael Roos believes QB Jake Locker is on the verge of becoming a franchise quarterback. ‘This offseason, I’ve seen it more than (at) any other point in the last three years,’ Roos said. ‘It’s his team now. He might be a very easy-going guy, a very happy guy, but when it comes to football, he definitely has that fire. We’re all seeing it.’

Jaguars | Luke Joeckel still getting used to RT

Jacksonville Jaguars OT Luke Joeckel said he is still working on getting comfortable with playing right tackle after playing left tackle while in college. ‘It’s going to be a process. I definitely got better at it every single day through OTAs and then in minicamp. It’s something I’m not just going to go out on the field and be totally comfortable with it, but we have enough practice and enough time to prepare for the season that by game one and by preseason game one I want to be totally comfortable; be 100 percent comfortable with my pass set. All I can do right now is just get better at my sets and my run steps every single day,’ Joeckel said.
