Patriots | Rob Gronkowski could start season on PUP list

New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (forearm, back) could start the regular season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, depending on how his rehab from back and forearm surgeries are going. Gronkowski would have to miss the first six games of the regular season if he started the season on the PUP list.

Our View: This was always a possibility given the timetable for his return from his recent back surgery. Gronkowski is most certainly going to miss most of training camp and the preseason. On the PUP list at the beginning of the year would force him out the first six weeks of the season. With all the problems at the TE position fantasy owners need to keep an eye on Jake Ballard (knee) and undrafted rookie free agent Zach Sudfeld (Nevada).
